hot swap-able mechanical switches (mx cherry style)
Back lit key
10 faders (non motorized)
1 - 180 degree rotary potentiometer (for master)
2 infinite encoders with push buttons
Details:
So what’s new? Like the space program Gemini was the next step after Mercury. Gemini is built for set and packs a punch. Some major changes are: A self hosted web interface to access settings, OSC support, a battery and an optional shift command.
Settings:
With Mercury if you need to make any change you had to log onto a website. This really doesn’t work on set. So Gemini now hosts it’s own website. What does this mean? On the fly changes without internet access. You could be in the middle of nowhere and make all the changes you want.
OSC:
Another great new feature is OSC! After hearing all the request, I rebuilt the code from the ground up. I rebuilt the Midi code and added in OSC support. This means as long as Gemini is on the same network as your Ipad or ON PC software, you can communicate over OSC. And every OSC command is completely customizable per key. AND!!!! You can send to multiple devices! If you have Blackout and MadMapper running at the same time you can send commands to both. Build out your control surface to your application!
SHIFT:
You might be asking what is this “shift” command? Like a computer that a single key can do two functions, why shouldn’t your command surface? That’s exactly what I did. By selecting any key as a “shift “ button you can double your keys without doubling your foot print! now having custom macros take up half the space.
Why stop at the keys!? the encoders have the same option. You really have 4 encoders! encoder 1 and 2 and with shift they become encoder 3 and 4!
Battery:
A massive oversight on the original. So now it has one. Charges with the USB c on the back. Seamlessly transitions from being plugged in. No drop outs. Now there is no need to be physically connected. Just connect to your device over bluetooth or over the network.
